My Habitat for Humanity - Global Village Site

I have been involved with Habitat for Humanity, a global outreach, since 2005.  I think is was called Global Village.  Groups from around the US go to places where housing was needed to build houses.

 

I went with a group to Granada Nicaragua to build HOMES for LOCALS.  We ended up in Sebaco outside Matagalpa in the mountains.  We met and helped wonderful locals and worked with them to build their new homes. It was an experience I shall never forget.

 

After our time in Sebaco was u met up with a friend I had known in Columbia South Carolina. She was there running a school in Granada for poorer kids called Chavalos de Nicaragua.  I sponsored two kids in this school until the group of eight graduated.

 

While in Granada she gave me the tour of the whole area in and around Granada.  Such a beautiful city that was founded in the 1500's.  The city is  also located on the shore of  Lake Nicaragua.
